*****BEWARE OF THIS ELECTROLUX ICON, BOTH ALL REFRIGERATOR & FREEZER*****
This is a warning, and for some reason, my posts have been removed. These brands of Electrolux All Refrigerator & Freezer, Model Nos. E32AR75FPS-E32AF75FP are poorly designed and engineered. True they are nice to look at at seem to provide a solution for the space, and larger freezer space in seperate freezer and refrigeratin units, all wrapped in SPIFFY BRUSHED STEEL FINISH, they ONLY BENEFIT I MAY ADD. But what looms ahead is serious problems with temperature controls (wander upwards to 60 degrees in the fridge sometimes). It seems this all boills down to one thing, , auto-defrost (which eventually fails) and build-up of ice that develops as the auto-defrost fails to operate normally. Having had -3- SETS of Warranty Exchanges, I cannot say I am isolated in this, for I have read plenty of similar problems online and repairmen stories. It seems though, but most people have moved on, and either replaced the units, or seem happy to fe MANUALLY activating the defrost cycle, is what in my case, is what I am left with. Icing occurs due to the defrost cycle allows build-up of ICE on the COILS which are located INSIDE of these units, instead of out, like most. Thus retarding the actual temperature in the fridge, due to the ice presence, thus the refrigerator thinks it is cool from this ice presence. But the ambient temp wanders, as mentioned, up and up and finally one must manually engage the defrost on the units. Freezer is not as bad, it likes the cold temps of course but ice still builds up on it's inside back interior, and one must still MANUALLY DEFROST by overiding the controls (Temp Control set to Setting -2- and holding the BOTH up and down arrow until it displays a "D"....if you are suffering from this, that is the method.
Electrolux, as a whole, has never faltered in providing support in this dilemma, and has always stood by, sending the same replacement parts (sometimes multiple instances...NEED ANY PARTS ANYONE???), time after time, and as mentioned, ultimately replacing the units, both X3. But as it stands, third time around, STILL to this very day, a repairmen is fixing the same problem I have had both now for three years and THREE WARRANTY EXCHANGES of BOTH the Freezers and Refrigerators. Thus continuing this cycle of Electrolux's ignorance of this problem and their poor quality product.
Have tried everything but there is nothing that will fit my space in the nice DUOTRIM surround they provide, so oh well! Please respond if you have any questions...Thanks.
How are your refridgerator/Freezer performing now?
Wife and I are considering the stand alone ref and freezer....
