Matt,

Stick with a plain ol' Senseo. Of all trhe machines, it really is the simplest to operate and offers the best tasting coffee. Ignore Consumer Reports claim that there is a limited selection of coffee and that you'll need two pods to make a drinkable cup.  Even the best pod coffee isn't going to be as strong as plain ol' drip. However, if you use quality pods such as those from Wolfgang Puck or Fratello, you will produce a nicely drinkable morning cup of coffee. Unlike Senseo pods, with quality pods, you do not need two pods to make a stronger cup of coffee.

25 cents to 50 cents a cup is approximately correct. But, there is absolutely no need to double the cost to make a strong cup of coffee. Consumer Reports article is incorrect in that respect. Very incorrect. Just buy quality pods from a reputable internet vendor such as coffeewhiz.com. Buy enough in one order to earn free shipping. You'll end up with possibly several months worth of coffee. One pod. Insert pod in machine. Press the two cup button. Voila. A mug of drinkable coffee

I have a Senseo and love it. My mom has a SimpleHuman pod brewer. Very nice. The Senseo produces a slightly better cup of coffee and can use a marginally wider variety of pods. No need to get the Senseo Supreme. the plain ol' model is sufficient, especially since it can be had for less than half the cost of the supreme model (or the Simplehuman) if you time your purchase well.

After much research, I spent too much money and purchased the Keurig Breville K-cup brewer at Bed, Bath, and Beyond with a 20% coupon for about $229.00. It includes a variety of K-cups in the box, and a gold breweing cup for using your own ground coffee. It is stainless steel, quiett (compared to other Keurig brewers) and seems to be of high quality. The forums rate it highly. Costco also sells a Keurig brewer for $129 with another 100 or so K-cups and the gold brewing cup added in.

The K-cup system has a huge assortment of coffee, many highly rated, plus expresso, tea, and hot chocolate. I purhcased the Green Montain bold and it makes a tasty, strong cup. I am delighted with my purchase. I also love the option of using my own home coffee if I run out or prefer my own blend. I purchase the K-cups at Amazon.com using the grocery subscription service so I pay less than $12.00 for fifty K-cups--about 25 cents a cup. It is great for me and a sylish addition to my new kitchen. The Costco Keurig is also an excellent buy.

One and a half year later, my keurig is not working.  I've done everything that is recommended and it still only makes about a 1/4 cup of coffee.  I'm very irritated and would not recommend this coffeemaker.  I also think that the coffee that is made is very weak and I'm not even someone who seeks out strong coffee, just a normal cup.  I'm disappointed and annoyed that I have to invest in yet another coffee pot.

Don't know if you're aware of this but the Keurig company will replace the machine for free following a description of what you believe to be wrong with the machine. I know of 2 people who have had theirs replaced and have had no problems since. You do NOT receive a "reconditioned" machine as they do not require you to return the entire unit, just the part that holds the K-cups. I have been using my KeurigB60 for over 3 years now with NO issues! I think it would be worth a second try!

We have three Keurigs between our home and offices.  We've had them for years with never a problem.  There is a wide selection of coffee available and these machines make a great cup of coffee.  If you like it stronger, simply choose a smaller size so less water will be added to the cup.  The coffee is always fresh, there are never any leftovers, everyone can have their own favorite flavor and there is no clean-up.  We're even thinking of getting a fourth! Obviously, I recommend it very highly!
