The convenience of the Holland Grill you describe is accurate.  But they also market an infrared searer that fits on to the side of their grills.  Very high heat to sear for a minute or two and then move the food over to the main grill.  Best grills I have ever owned.  Just replaced my 20 year old Holland with a new Holland Apex SS and coudn't be happier.

Yep a couple friends own them and love them. Again too though for the op who asked the Holland is a quality unit. A little spendy but worth every penny (as long as you understand it's cooking style) and like this particular method. The IR burner does give it another dimension. Glad you made us all aware of it. Might bring a few in to that camp ;)

How about going here http://www.bbqsource-forums.com/invboard/index.php?act=idx and getting onboard. Put some photos up and what have you.

You cannot switch from natural gas to propane. They stopped making the converson kits. Don't no why just no one has the kits anymore. Someone must of got burned trying to change the jets?
