I would not recommend the Go Computer for your mother. We purchased one at First Street, paid via CC on a 30 day trial basis. Invoice and return information all on one page. We decided against this computer because we had lots of problems getting help from the customer service people to name a few. They did not accept the return to their First Street headquarters. Our invoice said to return item to First Street Colonial Heights. We could have driven there. We live nearby. They made us ship it to Houston, TX at our cost of $33+. We just got a refund of a partial amount credited to our CC short of $155. In addition they just charged our CC a monthly fee of 20.99 even though the computer had been long long returned .
They advertise a full refund, a return , no questions asked. Well, that is not true, they ask plenty of questions and did not return a full refund. We are very upset with this business and plan on taking it all the way. We have written a letter to the COO, Chris Fawcett but received no response as of yet.
WE are planning on reporting this incident to the BB.
The site clearly states the return policy and the refund policy . All items are to be returned to Colonial Heights on Ruffin Mills Road, exactly what our statement said but that was not the case. When we requested a return shipping label, a First Street Rep got very rude. She made a comparison by saying "If you buy a shirt in a store and decide you don't like it, the store will not refund you for the gas used to return it."
All we wanted was to return the computer and get our money back. The fact is it took a letter to the VP &COO of First Street to get back what we did get back, short of $155 plus a $33 shipping charge. A total of $176 short. In addition the new charge of 20.99 on our CC. WE are planning to call the CC company for unauthorized charge. No, we cannot recommend any company that does this type of business. Thanks for listening to us. Be careful. The first respondend of your request was a better choice for you.
FirstSTREET and WOW computers.
My mother purchased one of these. After nreading some reviews she then refused the package (ie it never left the UPS Drivers hands). The package got returned the address it was shipped from. FirstSTREET says that is not one of their addresses, even though they had it shpped from that address (Mount Dora, FL) They transfered me to WOW Computers and I was told it wasn't a WOW issue. WOW conferenced us back to FirstSTREET and he was unable to get anywhere with FirstSTREET. When we asked to speak to a supervisor we were told "she was not at her desk": However she did come back with a sugestion. She said she was told we needed to contact UPS to find out where it got delivered. We had already given her that information, we have the tracking number (btw: FirstSTREET is unable to retreive the tracking number from the order) and we informed FirstSTREET of the tracking information and the refusal and final delivery information.
Still no refund coming form FirstSTREET........stay away........from them......having to fill paperwork at teh cank to get our refund. Customer support and service at FirstSTREET appears to be only an illusion.
