Discussion: Water heaters > Rheem professional vs fury
1 of 2

I am planning on replacing my 40 gal water heater with Rheem.  I have a few questions and would appreciate your input.

1. Is Rheem professional significantly superior to Fury?  What makes Professional superior to Fury ?Are they made differently?

2. Is the Protection plus to increase the warranty by 4 years worth it or is it better to get the base warranty and then replace the anode rod before the warranty runs out?

3. Currently I have a short waterheater installed.  The plumber said that is better to replace it with a tall water heater and he can fix the vents.  There is enough room on the top.  Is there any advantage or disadvantage in short vs. tall water heaters?

Thanks.

save your money buy the fury 6yr tank will last just as longas the rest. tanks are designed to last about 10 years. the pro series is 8 years slightly bigger anode is the only difference and the protection plus is an added anode but again will be depleted in 10 years
