I am ready to replace my "g" wireless router with an "n" router and would like input on which of the brands is truly the best. I need more range. I have a location downstairs and diagnally away from the router and through a concrete garage floor. Note that the currently installed router generally works okay but at times it will drop off the server that I am getting data from. it is a five-year-old Lynksys 2.4 Gig g-band router. I stream a lot of data and the performance is far more important than the price.
I am considering the Netgear N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit router available from Costco for $129.99. But my computer repair guy states that Lynksys is the best. In the past, I have heard that D-Link is the best but don't remember where that came from. Most advice is they are all good, but I want the extra oomph. Any advice or comments will be appreciated.
