More likely hesitation is an air leak intake system than a fuel filter.  No check engine warning light?  Check all vacuum hoses for integrity.

Change the fuel filter auto mfg recommendation if unsure.  My 2005 Accord doesn't have a fuel filter, the 05 Sable does.  Ford says 30k miles, I will do at 60k miles.  Gasoline is filtered last at the pump while you fill.  Not to say contamination couldn't happen but not likely.
