I have a Scion Tc and had Falken ZE502 tires on it. They have been noisey, hard to balance, and short tread life. I have been recommended to by Achilles ATR Sport tires. I have never heard of them. Does anyone know about these tires?

Achilles is a brand of American Pacific Industries, whose CEO stated in an interview with Modern Tire Dealer:  "We’re not a primary tire supplier; we’re not a Michelin or a Bridgestone or a Goodyear. We’re trying to be a very good second-tier supplier."  He says that "Our tires are so significantly different" from others made in China.

What tire size (Scion tC had more than one possible tire size) and what characteristics are you looking for in a tire?  There should be tires from better known brands which have been tested or surveyed by CR, Tire Rack, etc. available for your car, so you should not have to buy unknown quality tires from an unknown second-tier brand.
